So this is a picture of me with my new shirt from threadless (once again...to order yours, click on the link on the right sidebar) Thanks for the shirt Meg! I look kinda chunky in this photo. I may in fact be kinda chunky. It has pretty much been way to hot to go running... until today. I should really go tonight....maybe...
So anyway, we went to see Wicked last night. I'd be an idiot if I said it wasn't good but I'll just be honest and say it's not my cup of tea. We were pretty much sitting on the ceiling of the huge theatre miles away from the stage. I definitely prefer being closer to the action with less props and production. I think if your going to put that much effort into something, go make a movie. I don't know... I just wasn't real into it. I could go off about it, but I won't.
Tonight we had the first full length meeting with our practicum groups. We just sorta talked about how things are going at our internships. Half the group told their life story. I go next week. Normally we will meet on Friday afternoons, but not this time. So tomorrow I guess my weekend starts early!
A little bit about my internship so far... yesterday I went with my supervisor to this super-crazy little video production place downtown. They showed me how they do all the color correction stuff. They had 29 reels to go through for a commercial for a gas station (I don't know how much I'm allowed to say, so I'll just leave out the details of huge major corporations that could sue me to death for talking about them on my blog). I was really suprised to learn that most commercials are still shot on film. The guy says it's because that's what the pros are comfortable with now, and that slowly but surely it will all shift to digital. I'm getting more stuff to work on while I'm at work, but I decided that I better lay down the $30 for a copy of InDesign classroom in a book so I can learn it while I have access to it. Pretty much everyone recommends learning InDesign and says that Quark will be gone soon.
Once again... way to long of a post... I gotta get back to the apt and grab some supper!

I guess that you sat up in what my generation calls "Nosebleed Country" in the theater. Hope that you didn't pay too much admission.
I see that you figgered out how to get rid of spammers on your Blog! I did that too after I saw what you got hit with.
i kinda just swiped the line of HTML code from someone else's blog (naughty, naughty)... and to get the picture uploaded to blogger's server, i went back and added it in an earlier post... i'm sure there are better ways to do that, but i don't think too many people will be looking at my first post
